PitchSlave is HIRED!!!

As I said in my previous post I have been given a great opportunity by OgilvyOne to join their team for a couple of weeks.

I am so grateful to them for showing faith in me and I hope I can repay them in the time they have given me.

It does mean that I will be unavailable for a while but keep watching this space to find out what PitchSlave is up to and if there are any developments.

OgilvyOne

Sorry about the late update!

I recently took the sandwich board to OgilvyOne in Canary Wharf and started to hand out business cards. After a while I decided to take a break and get a drink, when I got a call from a lady that works there asking if I was still in the area. I was!

I met her outside the offices and took me through their lovely reception, up in the lift and into the central hub of activity where I was to meet various very senior figures in the organisation. I am pleased to say that they have offered me a placement to start on Monday.

It is now down to me to prove my worth and make the most of the opportunity that they have so kindly offered me.

Thank you OgilvyOne!

PitchSlave @ Goodge St

Yesterday I went down to Goodge St and tried to get the campaign rolling outside Saatchi & Saatchi. I have uploaded a couple of photos again so you can see what I was up to and if you where one of the people who kindly took a business card then I thank you. If you were not, I totally understand, but I come with the best of intentions so please do come and ask any questions you have if you see me there again.

With the website starting to gather some momentum in terms of content it was time for me to start trying to drive some traffic.

Oxford Circus was the area of London I thought it was best to start in with The Engine Group as my first target. I paraded around for a while in the sandwich board handing out the PitchSlave business cards, before stopping for a coffee with the friend I had drafted in to take photos (I offered him a pint, he hasn’t collected yet!) and setting up the A1 ad boards.

This year The Olympics came to London in what was definitely the biggest event of the year (apologies Queeny) and was probably the largest spectacle many of us will see, in this country, during our lifetime.

So…with a big sporting event such as this there is ample opportunity for official sponsorship and for the odd company to jump on the band wagon and take a share of the spoils.

The PitchSlave idea!

Henry Carless is a Business Graduate trying to get a place on a graduate training scheme in the Advertising industry.

Not the easiest thing in the world.

A chat over a coffee with Robin Wight of Engine Group gave him an idea…

A couple of weeks ago I was walking down Oxford Street and I was approached by a girl (who’s name I will keep anonymous, incase this blog turns out to be more successful than I thought). This doesn’t happen to me at the best of times, especially after an hour long meeting on a blisteringly hot day…in a suit, suffice it to say I was not looking my best…
